Sweater weather

The weather was quite chilly last week and usually when it's cold, I reach for a sweater and jeans - boring, I know... So I wanted to get out of my comfort zone a little and try wearing a skirt instead. For some people, wearing skirts and dresses are pretty much second nature to them, but for me it's shorts and pants. But I'm trying to change that this summer! I like this skirt because of the detailing - lace, thin panels, and a trumpet-like silhouette. I paired it with a bright red sweater with a cool cut-out on the back and a pair of boots to toughen up the look. What are your thoughts on the outfit? Do you wear skirts or shorts more?

This is my last outfit post before I head overseas! I'll be in Hong Kong for the next 2 weeks, so stay tuned for a photo diary of my time there when I get back.

You can also follow me on Twitter and Instagram where I'll be updating you guys daily!

Basics

I usually always go for colour and print in my outfits, but I've been putting my basic pieces to good use lately. There's nothing more comfortable than running errands in a simple knit, denim shorts and converses. And for a little bit of colour, I added some rose gold accessories. How do you style your basics?

In other news, I'm heading to Hong Kong in 2 days for a 2 week holiday! I'm super excited since this will be my first visit to HK. I have 1 more outfit photo to post before I leave, then it'll be 2 weeks until I post again (since I'm not taking my laptop with me). Stay tuned for my next outfit post and for the exciting photo diaries of Hong Kong when I return!

The Grounds

Yesterday was my mum's birthday, so I decided to take the day off and enjoy it with my family. We had a late breakfast at The Grounds of Alexandria, then went for some retail therapy :) I finally bought a pair of boyfriend jeans that I actually liked on myself! (I tweeted a photo of them here). Every pair that I've tried on in the past just didn't quite fit right or suit my style, but thankfully I found one because I'm in love with the trend. I'm a huge jeans person, so I guess that's no surprise. I can't wait to style them for an outfit post!

For yesterday's outfit, I went for my signature jeans and a blazer combo - comfortable and classic. I love a good pop of colour so I went for a bright blazer, and it just so happened to suit the gorgeous sunshine outside :)

Camouflage

I know some of you may be over the camo print already... but I'm not! :)
I still love these jeans and I've definitely worn them heaps since I purchased them a few months back. I love how versatile they are and how easy it is to dress them up or down. They give a perfect amount of edge to an outfit and you really can't go wrong when pairing them with a simple white, black or grey t-shirt.

I know the camo print isn't going to stay on-trend forever, so I'm trying to make the most of it before the summer season kicks in and the jeans get tucked away.

Are you guys still loving the camo trend?

Krista Hochwallner

I've recently come across a new label, which I've fallen head-over-heels for.
Krista Hochwallner is an Australian brand with amazing evening gowns that cater for any occasion. The designs are classic, feminine and sophisticated, but also have a modern touch with details such as sheer panels, draping, lace, sequins, and of course a gorgeous leg slit. Each piece is produced in-house in Brisbane, Australia, and is created with close attention to detail to ensure you're getting a high quality garment.

Birthday dinners, work parties, weddings, school formals and other festive events are all slowly starting to approach in the months ahead, and I'm sure we all want to look our best! So, since the end of the year is looming, I thought this was a perfect time to share this amazing website with you guys to give you some outfit inspiration for the formal season!

The online boutique also ships worldwide!

Colour bash

Happy Monday everyone!
Hope you're all having a great start to the week. I'm back with an outfit post, and true to my style, it's full of colour :)

But - how cool is this background?! I was on my lunch break when I walked passed this amazing wall and knew I had to shoot an outfit post with it. So I decided to come back the next day (with some more exciting clothes on that aren't my usual 'denim and t-shirt' outfit for work). I've had this blazer for years and absolutely love it. I'm a huge fan of blazers and I love throwing them on over a plain t-shirt to add a bit more sophistication.

And floral pants are a must. Because it's spring. Groundbreaking. (Couldn't help myself. Love The Devil Wears Prada.)

VOGUE Fashion's Night Out

I attended VFNO last night and had heaps of fun shopping the new season looks from stores all around the CBD and Pitt Street area. There were discounts on every corner and DJs in every store. There were also fun activities, fashion shows, and free ice-creams and champagne everywhere you looked!

A show which I particularly enjoyed was the David Jones #WEARE catwalk styled by two of my favourite bloggers: Sara Donaldson of Harper & Harley, and Rochelle Fox of A Fox That Meows. It's all about fresh young style for spring/summer, being confident in yourself and dressing to suit your own personality. You can express your style by completing the hashtag.

#WEARETRENDY would sum up my style. I love changing up my style every now and then and wearing things that I never expected would come into fashion. I love experimenting with style as well, and wearing trendy items always helps to add a little fun and excitement to my outfit.

I hope you enjoy these snaps from the show! All items are in store now.

Beige beauty

I've always been a huge fan of beige, nude, cream and camel colours. I feel that it compliments my skin tone and pairs well with most colours - and since I'm a huge lover of colour in my outfits, it's always nice to wear a nude shade to tone it down. It's such a versatile shade as well, making it so easy to style. I've noticed the trend at the moment is all about getting back to basics - black, white, stripes, leopard, denim etc. But I feel beige is also a basic colour that's a must for our wardrobes.

Here's some outfit inspiration for your week ahead! Which photos are your favourite?
How do you style cream/beige items? I'd love to know in the comments!
